Art Show Embraces Diverse Local Talent
and New Venue
The 2011 Lakeside Spring Art Show to be held Friday and Saturday 21st and 22nd October will be hosted at its new venue in the Mater Dei Catholic Primary School Hall.
This will be the fifth biennial Art Show coordinated by Mater Dei Primary School and this year it features more than 400 works by 80 artists for viewing and purchase.
Previously the Art Show was held in the Mater Dei Primary School library and courtyard; this year will see the artworks magnificently displayed in the newly built multipurpose Hall.
The 2011 Lakeside Spring Art Show has the additional feature of an art auction. Three major artworks produced by the Mater Dei students will be auctioned as well as a fully catered dinner party for eight. The dinner is sponsored by Limeleaf Catering, Storehouse Cafe, Quinty Bakery, Knights Meats and Charles Sturt Winery.
The official opening of the Art Show will be performed at the cocktail party by stunning young local artist, Tahlia Keough. Tahlia is an award winning artist who has successfully exhibited in the 2011 ARTEXPRESS and will have her work on display at the Art Show.
The mediums that will be exhibited include paintings, mixed media, jewellery, millinery, textiles, photography and sculptures. This year we are excited to have many local Riverina artists as well as some new artists from as far reaching as Kew in Victoria .
The Art Show is a great opportunity to showcase local talented artists such as Willy Sheather, Sally Mumford, Margie Carlisle, Rebecca Hillis, Sue Dyde, Donna Hartwig and recent award winning artist Catherine Stewart. Also on display will be jewellery by Emma Kidson and Julia Simpson as well as beautiful textiles and millinery.
To add to the fun of the evening there will be wine tastings offered by Charles Sturt University Winery and Ant Moore Wines.
